Singkatan adalah sebuah kalimat yang biasa dipakai di lingkaran teman – teman terdekat yang mengerti ataupun komunitas. Banyak sekali singkatan yang dipakai di real life tetapi berikut ini saya berikan beberapa singkatan didalam dunia MMO dan kebanyakan digunakan di MMORPG genre.

Farm/Farming – It means hunting your items and saving gold.

Grind/Grinding – Pertains to leveling, killing monsters to level up.

Grindy - Means, it’s hard to level up. “The MMO Game is Grindy”, meaning the MMO Game is very hard to level up for your character.

Food/Feed/Feeding = Pertains that your character is weak and is always getting killed by the other player. “You’re a Food man!” = “You’re always getting killed man!”

Buff/s – Meaning to cast positive enhancing spells/skills on your character. Example, “Priest, please buff me” or “Priest Buff the party first before we engage.” Meaning Cast Positive Enhancing Spells on the party of characters first before we go and fight.

Pots – Pertains to Health, Mana, Rejuvenation potions or any that are Potions. “No Pots” means we fight without using Potions. “Don’t use pots” Means, don’t use potions.

Tank/Tanking – Taking all the damage to your character. Usually, meaning your character is very strong with high HP and Defense. “Your character is good for Tanking.”

Leech/Leeching – Leveling with a party without doing the task of killing monster or doing nothing. Meaning only your party members will kill monsters while you are doing nothing but you still get experience. You can sleep and still get experience. “That guy sucks! Because his a leecher! Throw him out of the party!”

Bot – meaning auto attack. Some MMO game has this built in features of auto attacking. “Sorry, I was on Bot Mode” Meaning, you didn’t intend to Kill Steal.

KS/Kill Steal – Killing a monster with a last hit. Meaning, some other player who already engage that monster and you steal it by killing it with last hit and getting the loot.

Loot/s – Item drop from monster or characters in PvP room/Siege/Clan/Guild Wars. Note that other MMORPG games has system features that let your item drops on PvP room, Siege/Clan/Guild Wars and even give you experience if you kill players.

Own/Owned – Meaning the player you said this to, is a player you always killed. It’s the same as saying to a player his/she’s weak.

Aw – has different meanings depending in how it is used. If a Character Dies in PvP and type “Aw” it could mean the character who killed him/her is strong and “Aw” became a compliment and if the Character who killed you says “Aw” it means the one he/she killed is the stronger one. Sometimes it could mean “really!?” Like for example a player says to the other player, “I’m stronger than you” and he/she would reply “Aw” meaning “Are you sure? Or Really!?” and sometimes, it could mean “I made a mistake.”

GG or /GG – The term is like bragging or boasting or Game Over or No chance or very Powerful. It is used in many forms. For example, if a character is very strong and is killed by another strong character, that other character can say “gg.” Meaning, I’m stronger than you. In PvP room, a Party who can eliminate all other Parties can say “gg” meaning, there is no chance for other party that can kill them or they are very strong. The weak ones can say “gg sir or gg bros” meaning, we have no chance of beating you guys. If you successfully take a castle from a Castle Siege, everyone can say “gg” from your guild, meaning we are victorious or we are just very strong.

LoL – Laugh Out Loud or meaning you are laughing or Laughing Out Loud in Real Life.

RL – Real Life. “I have many things to do in RL.”

Kkk - same as LoL but it is Brazilian laugh. Sometimes the “k” is written many times like kkkkkkkkkkk also the same with HuaHuahuahuahua.

Wakakaka – same with kkkkkk and Huahuahuahua

xD – a Big Smile or a Grin.

Pyr – means Go or Agree.

Noob/Nub – Stupid or Your not a talented player.

Leet/1337 – An Elite player. “Man, you’re 1337!” means “Man, you’re Elite”

T_T – It means Crying or Sobbing.

PK (Person Kill) – same as PvP. “let’s PK” = “Let’s PvP” It can also mean, kill that player. “Let’s PK him/her.”

Whore – Getting killed by anybody in the PvP Room.

Emo – A Player who is emotional. Sometimes pertains to a no life or weirdo player.

Hunt – Raiding other race/clan/guild territory and hunting the players on that other side.

Pawn/Pawned – being killed. “You just got pawned” = “You just got killed” or I pawned your ass” = “I killed you”

Grats/Gratz – Congratulations. “Grats at killing the Boss Monster.”

Imba – An exceptionally Pro Player. A player who is very skillful at using his/her character in combat/PvP.

Paper – An Extremely weak character/player or a player/character that is easily killed.

Nuke/r – A high damage skill or a character with very high damage. “Here comes the nuker guy! Run!””There is a Nuker in their party.”

Respawn – Where the killed monster comes back to life. “Stay near where the monster respawns.” Or if you die in PvP room or Guild War, your teammate will say “Respawn fast and come back to help defend.”

Spot – Pertains to the hunting ground that it is your area of leveling or hunting. “This is my spot, leave here or I will kill you” or “That is my spot, don’t hunt in there or I will kill you.”

Chicksilog/chicsilog – A Male Player who uses Female Characters, often pertains to Gays.

Power Chars/Characters – Pertains mostly to mages/wizards/sorcerers/necromancers, those characters that you need to manually click the keyboard for them to attack or use of skills.

Auto Chars/Characters – Are those characters that when you click a monster, it auto attacks until the monster dies. They are mostly knights, archer, hunter, assassin etc.

WASD – Pertains to the alphabet on the keyboard. Usually it is used if the MMORPG Game has WASD features which is, you can use WASD for movement instead of the mouse only.

Point and Click – Pertains to an MMORPG game that is using the mouse to point and click in attacking monsters or doing PvP, most typical term for most MMORPG, the Point and Click system.

Skill Base – Pertains to an MMORPG that uses Skill Base system in leveling rather than levels. Meaning, your characters won’t level, only your skills or items will level up. An example of this MMORPG is Guild Wars, TANTRA.

Macro – Pertains to an MMORPG game that uses a built-in Macro System/BOT. You can switch to Auto Attacking/Botting or Manual Play.

Hardcore – Pertains to Hardcore characters which some MMORPG game has. Hardcore characters have permanent death, meaning if you die, your character will be deleted or goes back to level 1 or lose some levels.

DC – Disconnected. “I got dc.”

Zzzz – Boring

PT – Party

STFU – Shut the Fuck Up

NC – Nice or Nice One

GB – Good Job

NJ – Nice Job

AFK – Away From Keyboard

OMG – Oh My God

IDK – I Don’t Know

WTF – What the Fuck!?

NP – No Problem
